The Chicago Council on Global Affairs is partnered with Status Pros to co-manage our IT environment. In this configuration, we use Status Pros’ ticketing system as the primary service touch point for users, and then tasks are divided by service area and onsite vs remote needs. Status Pros provides fully remote support to the Council, monitoring servers, network, user hardware, and pre-identified cloud applications. Our onsite in-house IT staff manage various other applications and office hardware deployments and troubleshooting.

The partnership has been extremely successful – Status Pros assigns a known group of support staff that regularly interact with me and my users; their knowledge of the environment has drastically improved ticket resolution time and effectiveness compared with our previous managed services vendor. They had a vast knowledge of different software and hardware platforms that have allowed us to drastically cut licensing costs and provide improved service to an organization that is part think tank and part live event production shop. There have been two business-driven emergency special projects in the last quarter that have required pre-planned onsite Status Pros support, and they have gone above and beyond to be present and collaborate with my IT staff on completing the planning and execution of these projects on-time, on-plan, and on-budget.

Prior to joining the Council, I was an IT consultant focused on supporting investor owned and municipal utilities.
